Terms of Service

Version: draft-2026-05-27

1. Who we are

Server Manager is operated by Igor Cardines, an Italian sole trader (libero professionista) under the regime forfettario. Contact: igor.cardines@gmail.com. The service is available at servermanager.dev.

In these terms, "we" / "us" / "Server Manager" refers to the operator above. "You" / "user" refers to the individual or legal entity accepting these terms.

2. The service

Server Manager is a web application that lets you manage Linux servers (whether VPS, dedicated, bare-metal, or home servers) through an AI agent named Faro. Faro proposes shell commands and configuration changes; you approve each one explicitly before it runs against your server. Server Manager does not host your servers — you connect your own infrastructure to the service via SSH.

3. Eligibility & account responsibilities

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to create an account. You agree to provide accurate sign-up information and to keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account, including commands that Faro runs on your server with your approval.

One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to defeat the free-tier limit (see Section 5) is a violation of these terms.

4. The free trial

New accounts receive a one-time free trial credit, sized to approximately 51,000–118,000 input tokens plus around 6,600 output tokens of LLM usage (the range depends on how much prompt caching applies to your sessions). No card is required and the trial has no time limit; it ends only when the trial credit is used.

The free trial is a one-time grant per email address. Deleting your account and re-creating it does not reset the trial. Abuse detection (cross-account VPS-host matching within 90 days) may revoke the free trial of subsequent accounts; see Section 5.

5. Pricing & passes

Beyond the free trial, access to the AI agent costs €5 per 30-day pass, sized to approximately 340,000–785,000 input tokens plus around 44,000 output tokens of LLM usage (the range depends on how much prompt caching applies). Passes start on the day of purchase and expire 30 days later regardless of remaining balance. Any unused balance at the 30-day mark is forfeited; buying a new pass before that mark also forfeits the unspent balance by replacing the active pass.

No subscription. Each pass is a separate one-time payment. We do not bill you on a recurring schedule.

Auto-refill is opt-in. If you tick the "save my card for one-tap auto-refill" checkbox at purchase, your card is stored by our payment processor (Stripe) for future use. When your tokens are consumed, the application shows an in-app prompt asking you to authorize another €5 charge. Each refill requires your explicit click; no charge happens silently. You can turn auto-refill off any time in your account settings.

Prices are in Euros (EUR). Under the Italian regime forfettario, no VAT is added — the price shown is the total you pay.

We may change pricing for future passes with reasonable notice (typically 30 days). Existing unexpired passes are not affected retroactively.

6. Refund policy & right of withdrawal

By ticking the consent box at checkout, you expressly consent to immediate execution of the service and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal under Art. 16(m) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) once your pass tokens are credited. Tokens are credited within seconds of successful payment.

As a goodwill exception to the no-withdrawal default, we offer a full refund if you request one within 14 days of purchase AND you have not consumed any tokens from the pass in question. After any tokens are consumed, no refund is available. Refund requests: email igor.cardines@gmail.com from the email address registered to your account.

7. Acceptable use

Server Manager is a tool you point at your own servers — we do not host your content or provide your infrastructure. These rules therefore concern how you use our service, not what you lawfully run on your own server (what you host and run there is a matter between you and your hosting provider, under their terms).

You agree that you will not:

  • Connect Server Manager to, or use it to manage, servers you do not own or are not authorized to administer
  • Use Faro or any part of the service to attack, scan, intrude upon, or harvest credentials from systems or networks you don't own or have explicit permission to test
  • Attempt to circumvent the free-trial anti-abuse mechanism (multiple accounts for the same server, email-aliasing to obtain repeat free credit, etc.) or otherwise extract LLM/token value beyond the intended use of the service
  • Interfere with, overload, or disrupt the integrity or performance of Server Manager's own infrastructure or other users' sessions
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract our source code or models
  • Use the service in violation of applicable export controls or sanctions, or to facilitate activity that is illegal under Italian or EU law

We may suspend or terminate accounts found to be in violation, with notice except in cases of material breach (e.g., active attack on our infrastructure).

8. Your data & your server

Your SSH credentials are handled with the security measures described in our Privacy Policy and the help article How your SSH credentials are handled.

Commands run on your server through Faro do so with your explicit approval each time. You retain full ownership of your server, its data, and any configuration changes made through Server Manager. Server Manager does not claim any rights over your content.

You approve every command before it runs — including destructive ones such as deleting files, services, databases, or data — and you are responsible for the outcomes of the actions you approve. Server Manager shows you each command for review before execution and backs up files before replacing them where it can, but it cannot reverse every action (deleted databases, dropped containers, removed system users, and external state are not always recoverable). You are strongly advised to keep your own independent backups of anything critical. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or damage resulting from commands you approved (see Section 10).

Files Faro reads to perform tasks (configuration files, command outputs) are transmitted to our LLM provider (currently OpenAI) to generate responses. See the Privacy Policy and What Faro sees in your chats for full details.

9. Service availability & "as-is" disclaimer

Server Manager is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or always-available service. Scheduled and unscheduled downtime may occur. We do not currently offer a formal Service Level Agreement (SLA).

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. THIS DISCLAIMER DOES NOT AFFECT YOUR MANDATORY CONSUMER RIGHTS UNDER ITALIAN AND EU LAW.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total cumulative liability for all claims arising from or related to your use of Server Manager is limited to the total amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, special, or punitive damages, including but not limited to: data loss; server downtime caused by user-approved commands; loss of revenue or business opportunity; third-party API outages (Stripe, OpenAI, our hosting providers, your DNS provider, etc.); or any damages resulting from your inability to access the service.

The above limitations do not apply to: (a) gross negligence or willful misconduct on our part; (b) damages to life, body, or health attributable to us; or (c) any other liability that under mandatory Italian or EU law cannot be limited or excluded.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Server Manager harmless from any third-party claim arising from your violation of these terms or your unlawful use of the service — including but not limited to your operation of a server in violation of applicable law, your hosting of content that infringes third-party rights, or your actions against networks or systems you don't own.

12. Termination

You may stop using Server Manager at any time. You can delete your account from the Account page; see Deleting your account for the data-retention details.

We may suspend or terminate your account for material breach of these terms with reasonable notice. For non-material breach we will normally first ask you to remedy the issue.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law, and mandatory retention of billing records — survive.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms with reasonable notice — typically 30 days by email and an in-app banner. Material changes require you to re-accept the terms before your next purchase. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance of non-material changes.

14. Governing law & dispute resolution

These terms are governed by Italian law, without regard to its conflict-of-laws provisions. For consumer disputes, the jurisdiction is the place of your residence within the EU, as required by mandatory EU consumer-protection law. For non-consumer (B2B) disputes, the exclusive jurisdiction is the Court of Isernia, Italy (Tribunale di Isernia).

EU consumers may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

15. Miscellaneous

  • Severability. If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.
  • No waiver. Our failure to enforce any right does not waive that right for the future.
  • Entire agreement. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and per-purchase consent, constitute the entire agreement between you and Server Manager.
  • Assignment. You may not assign these terms without our consent. We may assign these terms to a successor in the event of merger, acquisition, or sale of the service.
  • Language. The authoritative version of these terms is in English. Translations may be provided for convenience.
